THE POPE IN NOMADELFIA

Thre Pope in Nomadelfia (May 21 1989)On Sunday, May 21, 1989, Pope John Paul II visited Nomadelfia. He entered a family group and baptized the youngest child in our church. Two dances, which were taken from the "Entertainment Evenings", were performed for the Holy Father in the tent theatre. At the end the Pope spoke to the 4,000 people present, among which were Nomadelfians, ex-Nomadelfians and friends from all over Italy.

"I came to see where and how the community operates"

"You are a parish which is inspired by the Acts of the Apostles"

"A society which prepares its laws by taking them from the ideals preached by Christ"

"I ask you to love the Church, since the Church loves you and appreciates your experience"

"We live in a world which is hostile and far from faith and as Fr. Zeno taught you with his own life, you must respond with good deeds and visible signs of brotherly love. Nomadelfia is capable of this because it is a community inspired, as its name says, by the law of brotherhood. Long live Nomadelfia!"

From the ACTS OF THE APOSTLES

The community of believers lived in unison, and those who had possessions did not consider them as their own but rather put them all together.
