Nomadelfia è una delle diverse realtà della Chiesa, con una vocazione specifica, al pari delle altre realtà cattoliche. All’interno della Chiesa ognuno di noi ha una missione diversa: i principi sono gli stessi e si trovano nel Vangelo. La fraternità non ha un’unica espressione, ma può essere vissuta in diversi modi, dato che ogni carisma risponde ad una chiamata di Dio e ha una sua bellezza.
No. Il fondamentalismo è la negazione della libertà della persona davanti alla religione. Nomadelfia oggi esiste perché è inserita in un contesto in cui lo Stato garantisce il rispetto delle libertà di pensiero, espressione e associazione della persona.
Inoltre, la logica evangelica dell’amore universale esclude a priori il fondamentalismo: il Vangelo si propone e non si impone, dato che non si può imporre, mediante le istituzioni, ciò che per sua natura deve essere accolto liberamente.

Don Zeno, in una lettera a La Pira, scriveva: “Non bisogna fare uno stato cristiano, ma per tutti”, ovvero lo Stato è e deve restare laico. Nomadelfia infatti non nega il principio di laicità dello Stato, intesa come neutralità dello Stato di fronte alle religioni basata sul principio di sussidiarietà. Proprio per realizzare in modo più pieno la libertà di scelta personale, Nomadelfia è a favore di un modello di laicità che rispetti la libertà di pensiero, espressione e professione religiosa, in cui la persona resta nel diritto di portare la propria visione della giustizia e dell’etica anche nella vita politica dello Stato.
I valori fondanti di Nomadelfia hanno una validità anche all’esterno della Chiesa, in quanto i principi di solidarietà e fraternità possono essere accolti anche da chi non crede.
A chi è ateo o agnostico chiediamo di valorizzare ciò che ci unisce, cogliendo dall’esperienza di Nomadelfia quei valori universali che mettono al centro l’uomo; tra cui l’amore, l’unione fraterna, la giustizia, la solidarietà, l’uguaglianza, la sussidiarietà, che hanno un linguaggio universale e vanno al di là della religione.
Nessuno può essere è obbligato a scegliere una vocazione se non la sente propria. I ragazzi che sono andati via da Nomadelfia hanno fatto moltissime esperienze diverse: università, missione, volontariato, tirocini, lavoro, Erasmus… E Nomadelfia sarà sempre la loro famiglia. Come tutti i ragazzi che vanno a fare un’esperienza di studio o lavoro lontano da casa, tornano da noi ogni volta abbiano voglia o bisogno di stare un po’ con la famiglia.
Nel corso della vita può accadere che un membro della comunità decida che Nomadelfia non è più la sua strada. In questo caso non è tenuto a rendere conto delle motivazioni della sua decisione; tutto ciò che gli viene richiesto è di dare un preavviso ragionevole, affinché le sue mansioni non rimangano scoperte. La comunità gli dà il tempo ed i mezzi per trovare un lavoro ed una casa.

Tutta la nostra vita è fondata sulla fede e perciò siamo chiamati a vivere ogni momento della vita come preghiera. I momenti di preghiera comunitaria sono due: la sera prima di andare a tavola, e la messa della domenica. Essendo una popolazione di famiglie, non possiamo chiedere ai figli più di quello che viene richiesto ad ogni cristiano laico. Naturalmente ognuno è libero di trovare dei momenti di preghiera personale, facilitata dalla presenza della cappella nel gruppo familiare.
